The aim of this unit is to provide the skills needed to effectively tackle the range of planning and management decisions that arise in manufacturing systems. A key objective of a manufacturing system is the timely production of products that conform to specifications while minimising costs. Strategic performance measures are cost, quality, flexibility and delivery.
